Florian Breitkopf

I am a PhD candidate in Penn's Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures. My dissertation explores 'Kunstgespräche' around 1800: texts that present conversations and discussions about art and aesthetics. I am also preparing a comprehensive study on German painter Christian Ferdinand Hartmann (1774-1842). Before coming to Penn, I studied Germanistik and Philosophy in Göttingen, at the University of Edinburgh, at Washington University in St. Louis, and in Tübingen.
